Dance Camp will be all about encouraging coordination, creativity and increasing confidence levels through positive communication techniques implemented for group work and interaction with individuals that are both younger and older than themselves.

The Dance Camp has been designed so that your children are exposed to various dance styles. CRB checked and Instructors have been hand picked so the activities can be varied with your children's safety in mind.

Dance camp is open to children between the ages of 4-14years although a limited number of older children will be encouraged to take part as Dance Camp Mentors.

We aim to introduce new activities each time Dance Camp takes place and this time is no exception. We realise that girls and boys do not always share the same interests and we are also aware of the fact that the older groups of children may require activities that challenge them in different ways than say a 7 year old.

So this time we have something for everyone:

* Hip Hop & Street Dance
* Break dancing& Body Popping
* Cheerleading
* Dance Stunts
* Choreography workshop
* Mix & Scratch DJ workshop

Your child will develop skills in:

How to mix, scratch and blend different types of music using the latest DJ Equipment with DJ Omega (Justin)

Street Dance (Including break dance, locking & popping - with Paul Alexander & Jade Shaw

Self expression through dance (Instilling self confidence & positive communication) - with Emma Reynolds

Group work & choreography (Encouraging creativity & team work & trust) - all instructors

Cheerleading and Dance Stunts - with Jade Shaw

Children have complete choice as to whether or not to participate as other activities will be taking place in other areas of the building.

Times:
Dance Camp will operate between 9am – 5pm

Cost:
£20 per day per child. Families with 2 children or more can enroll each additional child at a 50% reduction (applicable for block bookings & siblings only)
You do not have to book for the full duration of the camp, you can book for as little as one day if you wish.

OCTOBER 2007 HALF TERM DANCE & MUSIC CAMP SUPRISED US ALL!!

In five short days we watched over 40 children evolve and develop confidence, coordination and showmanship not forgetting Djing and MC skills.

Who would have thought that in such a short period of time, these kids would be able to perform headstands, hand stands and take part in acrobatics and stunts.

Parents were left gob smacked as their little ones showcased their achievements at an end of camp display show.

we want to thank everyone who took part and thank the parents and our Instructors for their loyalty, commitment and continued support.

EASTER HOLIDAY DANCE CAMP WAS A FANTASTIC SUCCESS!

We were confident that the kids attending the Easter Dance Camp would achieve great things, but just how great was an unexpected surprise to use all.

Within in a period of eight days, 80 children played part in participating in over 20 performances at what was nothing short of a breathtaking and exciting showcase that took place on Saturday 14th April.

Children as young as 4 years through to 14 years took part. The energy and atmosphere in the room was nothing short of euphoric leaving us all with a great sense of pride and bundles of happy memories.

As many of you already know, St Johns (the performance venue) was a last minute amendment to our schedule, following high ticket demands. Having said that we didn't quite anticipate that over 275 people would attend resulting in major chair shortage, so thank you to all those who were happy to sit on tables!

There are so many people that contributed to the success of the camp. Parents, the children, Instructors, local businesses, sponsors and even those who had nothing to do with the show, turned up to extend their support on what was the very first Urban.K production - Thank you!

A special thanks also goes out to The Churchfield Urban Krew for your guest appearance - you guys were fantastic!
